le weekend, walking the talk

walking the talk
it’s a blog’s life

walking the talk

I need to do more walking than talking, I guess we all do? What I mean is, as someone who believes in everything that comprises the notion of slow fashion: less is more, sustainability, social accountability, etc., I need to be more active in the way I express my beliefs.

To that end, the skirt above, that I bought for $10 at my local thrift store.

It’s made in Lithuania! 96% cotton, 4% elastane, fits me perfectly and is very well made. It’s also a bit quirky and not something I would usually go for, but that’s one of the good things about inexpensive, second-hand treasures, you can afford to take a chance.

I need to wash it and show it off and I will soon.

*The earrings are old but I like the way they go with the skirt.

blog’s life

This picture, I’ll call it “Bloggers Got To Meet,” is of me and Michelle Tyler, the woman behind the blog, “Michelle Tyler Curating A Wardrobe For Life.” She’s an Australian born, British blogger who recently moved to New Jersey, and that’s how we were finally able to meet.

Despite its considerable drawbacks, that’s the power of social media, the possibility of making friends, real or imagined, with people all over the place. When I say all over the place, I mean geographically and otherwise.

There’s a blog post in that thought, but for now, take a look at Michelle’s blog.

“Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.”

—Oscar Wilde
