I was going to post a piece on patterns in clothing today. Then last night I saw this, on the train, coming home from dinner.
Learning how to love NYC is a matter of paying attention. If you just keep your eyes open and pay attention, you’ll see so many crazy, wonderful, and astounding things your head will spin. Then, there are the merely mundane, slightly amusing sights, like the two above.
Complete strangers, they were so engrossed in what they were doing on their phones, that they were pressed up against each other like lovers. And check out that “man spread!”
Some people have to learn to love New York City, not me. I fell in love with this lady at first sight. Have a good weekend, look for Women Working.

I love New York City. I grew up on Long Island and the city was a magical, exciting, challenging place. I always enjoy visiting, and I think I always will!
I’ve only been there twice but want to come back soon! Being from the South it is life traveling to a foreign country!
I’m from and live in Philadelphia—-100 miles from and light years south of the Big Apple. When I go there, I’m sure I look like a deer in the headlights for most of the time.
Suzanne,
It’s not that far! Stay tuned, my plans are to show off the Big Apple some more in the future. I want to really give people something different from what we usually see. What do you want to see?
I agree! I was born in NYC and worked there most of my life and yes, I saw some pretty crazy stuff. I have stories..many lol
Haha. Maybe that’s one good use of mobile phones!
